Background & Experience

A legacy of advocacy

Rene Heinrich founded The Heinrich Firm with a singular focus: providing exceptional legal representation to Northern Kentucky families during their most challenging moments. As a child of divorce herself, her journey into family law was driven by a deep understanding that legal matters involving families require not just expertise, but genuine compassion.

Born in Rosenheim, Germany, and having a father, grandfather and uncle that played basketball at UK, Rene was raised with deep Kentucky roots and a German spirit. Rene is an Honors Scholar from EKU, earning degrees in Speech & Theatre and English. Prior to law school she worked on Broadway. After earning her Juris Doctor from Chase College of Law, Rene began her career learning complex litigation, personal injury and trial skills. After opening The Heinrich Firm in 2006 while pregnant with her middle child, she quickly became known for her thorough preparation, attention to detail, and ability to guide clients through complex legal processes with clarity and care.

Over the years, her practice expanded to encompass all areas of family law, including adoption, divorce, child custody, and prenuptial agreements, while still maintaining an active personal injury practice. Today, Rene is recognized as one of Northern Kentucky's leading family law attorneys. Other attorneys refer to her when they need representation for their own families and friends.

Outside of her legal practice, Rene is deeply committed to the Northern Kentucky community. A longtime member of the Highland Heights City Council, she works hard to make the world we live in better. Rene volunteers with local organizations supporting families and children, and speaks on family law topics at community events. Most importantly, Rene is the wife of Jack Hering, and the mom of three children and three bonus children. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and attending live music concerts.
